Zoë Heller (born July 7, 1965 in London ) is a British journalist and writer.

biography

Heller was born in north London in 1965 as the youngest of four children of the German-Jewish refugee Lukas Heller , who made a name for himself as a screenwriter. After studying English at the University of Oxford in Great Britain and Columbia University in the United States, she embarked on a career as a journalist. She initially wrote book reviews for various daily newspapers, later worked as a columnist for The Independent and finally came to the Daily Telegraph after a four-year job at the Sunday Times , where she has worked as a columnist ever since. In 2002 she was voted "Columnist of the Year" for her services.

In addition to her work as a journalist, Heller published her first novel Everything You Know in 1999 , followed by What Was She Thinking: Notes on a Scandal (2003), which was made into a film with Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett in 2006 , and The Believers in 2007.

In 2007, Heller married screenwriter and producer Lawrence Konner , with whom they had two daughters. However, the couple split in 2010.
