The English-language edition of the first volume of the fantasy series of the same name, which was announced with a total of seven parts, was published on August 20, 2013 by Bloomsbury Publishing under the title The Bone Season . The bone season

The main character in the futuristic adventure novel that begins in 2059 is 19-year-old Paige Mahoney. Many large cities around the world are controlled by the security company Scion at that time. Paige works as a messenger in the London underworld for a man named Jaxon Hall in a secret cell that operates under the name "Seven Seals". The work she does is unusual. As a dream wanderer, a rare type of clairvoyance, she travels back and forth between people's heads and spies on them.

On a rainy day, your life changes forever. Attacked, kidnapped and drugged, Paige is taken to a prison in Oxford - a secret city that disappeared from the map two hundred years ago and is now ruled by a powerful different race. Paige is subordinated to Sheol I Arcturus Mesarthim, the blood companion of Nashira, also called "the guardian", a young Rephait with golden eyes and honey-colored skin. If Paige wants to regain her freedom, she has to learn something of his spirit and his own mysterious motives ...

The publishing rights were sold in more than twenty countries (including China , Thailand , Iceland ). The German-language rights are held by Bloomsbury Berlin, part of Berlin Verlag . The first part appeared in the German translation by Charlotte Lungstrass under the title The Bone Season as an e-book on October 1, 2013. The hardback edition followed on November 12, 2013. The film rights were acquired by Imaginarium Studios in London . "The dystopian world that Samantha created in The Bone Season provides a fantastic backdrop for a really extraordinary and exciting story," said producer Andy Serkis .
