Nebel is a novel by the Austrian writer Mario Schlembach .

After years in exile, the young narrator returns to the place of his childhood to bury his father and takes over his father's business as a gravedigger. A tragic experience had made him flee and forget everything that had been. With his return and the ever more intense preoccupation with the funeral world, he gradually opens up his own story. At the latest, when he wakes up after his father's funeral next to a young woman he doesn't think he knows, his memory begins to fight its way into the light of consciousness.

Prices

Mario Schlembach received for his novel Nebel u. a. the Hans Weigel Literature Scholarship of the State of Lower Austria, the author's award of the 20th Irseer Pegasus and was nominated for the shortlist of the Alpha 2018 literary award.
