Nils Jensen (writer)

Nils Jensen (born June 20, 1947 in St. Pölten ) is an Austrian author and publisher .

Live and act

Jensen grew up in Rabenstein an der Pielach . After graduating from high school, he studied journalism at the University of Vienna and passed the teaching examination for German and history. Until 1983 he received several work grants from the City of Vienna .

The first texts appeared in the 1970s in literary magazines such as Freeboard and the literary magazine Frischfleisch (later Frischfleisch & Löwenmaul ), which he founded in 1971 together with Reinhard Wegerth and others . He also worked as a text author - among others for the music group Milestones - and in the meantime also worked as a final editor for magazines such as HörZu Österreich, Basta , Rennbahn-Express and Gault-Millau .

He has published works in various styles such as prose, poetry, children's books and plays, contributed to anthologies and is also active as an editor and translator.

Jensen was co-founder in 1989 and has since been co-editor of the international book magazine Buchkultur . He has been a member of the board of directors of the IG authors authors and since 2005 of the literary group Podium Schloss Neulengbach and was a jury member for the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize in the 1990s .

Jensen lives in Vienna and Aigen in the Mühlkreis .
