Nechung Monastery in Dharamsala

The Nechung Monastery in Dharamsala has been the seat of the Tibetan State Oracle since the Tibetan government moved into exile in India in 1959. Before that, the State Oracle resided in the monastery of the same name in Lhasa . Thubten Ngödrub , who was named 14th State Oracle in 1987, lives in an outbuilding of the monastery.
