Ned O'Sullivan

Ned O'Sullivan is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician and Senator in the Seanad Éireann since 2007 .

O'Sullivan attended University College Dublin and St Patrick's College of Education in Drumcondra . He then worked as a primary and secondary teacher in Dublin , County Offaly and County Kerry before eventually taking over the family business, a men's clothing store in Listowel .

O'Sullivan came from a family with close ties to Fianna Fáil. In 1985 he was elected to the Listowel Town Council . In 1991 he was elected to the Kerry County Council . Over the years he has served as Chairman of Listowel Town Council several times and, in 2004, Chairman of Kerry County Council . In 2007, O'Sullivan was elected to the Seanad Éireann. With his election to the Senate, he resigned from his municipal mandates.

O'Sullivan is married and has three sons. He is a cousin of the politician Kit Ahern .
