Nelsonic Game Watch

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nelsonic (with the Nelsonic Game Watch as its most famous product) was a company that was founded in 1981 and disappeared from the market in 1999. During its entire existence, the company initially only produced digital plastic wristwatches using LCD screens . The Nelsonic Game Watch followed later , a modification of the previously common digital watch, on which you could now play a pre-installed game on the LCD screens.

This idea appealed to many children and young people and the company captured a large share of the music box market. Due to the popularity of the Game Watch, Nelsonic was able to obtain licenses from well-known video game manufacturers such as Nintendo and Sega . The brands Donkey Kong , Super Mario Bros. , Frogger , Star Fox , The Legend of Zelda and many more have developed their own games for the Nelsonic Game Watch.

The Nelsonic Game Watch prevailed until the end of the 1990s, after which interest in the music box sank.
