The Nelsonville Brethren Church is a church of the Unity of the Brethren in Texas village of Nelsonville . The Unity of the Brethren (in German: Unity of the Brothers ) is a church founded by Czech immigrants, which, like the Moravian Church ( Herrnhuter ), appeals to the Reformation Bohemian Brothers .

The church building was erected in the first half of the 20th century in the pioneering Czech style on northern Church Street and has served as a place of worship for the parish, which was founded in March 1893, ever since. It is one of the few Brethrenkirchen churches in Austin County that was built by Czech immigrants .

The church stands in a prominent position, visible from afar, on a small hill above the village. On an L-shaped floor plan, there are two single-storey wooden-frame building wings, which are topped off with a gable roof . At the kink there is a bell tower covered with a pyramid roof, at the top of which there is a bell chamber open on all sides.
