Nemolyaki

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nemoljak or Nemoljaki (dt. " Non-prayers "; Russian Немоляки , scientific transliteration Nemoljaki , also transcribed as Nemolyaki), is one of the groups of Spassowo soglassije of the priestless Old Believers . It was founded in the first half of the 19th century by the Don Cossack Gawriil Simin . They were not allowed to use icons. They owe their name to the fact that they refused to pray for the tsar. Some members of this sect are portrayed in N. Leskov's story " Ecclesiastics from the cave monastery district ".
