Nena Cardenas

Nena Cardenas , actually Remy Cardenas (born before 1948) is a former Filipino actress .

Cardenas made her screen debut in 1948 in the drama "Kidlat sa Silangan" ( Weather Lights in the East ) for Premiere Production . For this studio she starred in around a dozen films, including “48 Oras” ( 48 hours ) with Rogelio de la Rosa .

In 1952 she shot the musical drama “Bulaklak ng Nayon” ( The Field Flower ) and “Bakas ng Kahapon” ( Traces of the Past ).

Her greatest successes with Sampaguita Pictures were "El Indio" ( The Indio ) and "Tres Ojos" ( Three Eyes ), both as partners of César Ramírez .

"Tomboy" was the last film of her short career in 1955, in which she was awarded the first Philippine Film Prize in 1951, which was then called the "Maria Clara Awards", for best actress.

Cardenas was married to her colleague Arturo Lerma .
