Neophytos Doukas

Neophytos Doukas or Dukas (* 1760 in Ano Pedina ; † 1845 ) was a Greek scholar, priest and author. He was one of the most important figures in the Diafotismos movement in modern Greece .

He was born in the village of Ano Pedina in Greece. In the course of his life he made stops in Vienna and Bucharest, where he taught, among other things, until an attack on his life prevented him from doing so. He wrote over 70 books and contributed to the translation and transmission of various ancient philosophers.
