Nessa Altura

Nessa Altura (* 1951 ) is a German writer.

Born and raised in Middle Franconia, Nessa Altura studied German, geography and American studies after graduating from high school in Tübingen and worked for several years as a high school teacher in Baden-Württemberg, Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia after passing the state examination. Nessa Altura has lived with her family near Stuttgart since the mid-1980s. She is married and has two kids.

Beginning in 2000, Nessa Altura published short stories and narratives. She received several literary prizes for this: the Friedrich Glauser Prize in 2002 for her short story "Der Burschl aus Tirol", in 2004 the prose prize of the city of Fürstenwalde and in 2005 the crime rate of the city singing for the short story "A piece of Säntis". In 2007 the Historica Prize for the short story "Kunigundens Temptation" followed.

Works

There are also numerous publications in anthologies, such as Tatort Stuttgart, Munich, 2005 and Tödliche Torten, Krefeld, 2005 and many more.
