Netlock

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under Netlock (engl., Literally about network-blocking) refers to the restriction of the use of a mobile radio device to the mobile network of a mobile operator . In contrast to the SIM lock , the mobile phone can only be used in the originally intended network, regardless of the SIM card used. Changing the wireless network is therefore not possible even if the SIM card is changed. With the Netlock, the provider secures sales in its own network and thus the amortization of the cell phone that is sold together with the SIM card below cost price .

Technically, the Netlock is carried out by the software of the respective mobile phone in the packaging before delivery by uploading a so-called customer file.

Unlocking

Unlocking can be requested free of charge after a contractually stipulated period (usually 24 months) or within this period for a fee from the respective service provider or network operator .

This then gives the customer the unlock code . With this you can unlock the device permanently and then operate it with any domestic or foreign SIM card.
