Nice toilet

As nice toilet or lavatory one provided by retailers and restaurant for free public use is toilet referred. For this they receive an expense allowance from the local city administration. In return, the city saves the considerable costs of having its own public toilets .

For example, the city of Bremen calculates annual costs of 150,000 euros for the “nice toilet”. In contrast, fully automatic toilet systems have so far incurred costs of 1.1 million euros. The city could save almost one million euros annually (as of 2009).

In some cities the same concept is called a "friendly toilet".

history

The concept of public use of toilets in restaurants was created in Aalen in 2000 and was implemented together with a local advertising agency. By the end of October 2013, the “nice toilet” had already been made available in more than 210 German cities and communities.
