Electronic commerce network

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Electronic Business Network (NEG) is a funding initiative of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology ( BMWi ). The aim of the initiative is to support small and medium-sized companies in making effective use of the opportunities offered by e-business.

Building the network

The NEG was founded in 1998 and offers on-site advice at 28 competence centers nationwide. It supports medium-sized businesses and the trades in the conception and introduction of e-business solutions - through information events, individual consultations (also in companies) and publications for practice. In the first ten years of its existence, over 300,000 participants took part in the more than 30,000 events and individual consultations of the network.

In addition to introductory advice, the network offers in-depth information in the following areas:

  • Customer relationship and marketing
  • Network and information security
  • ERP - business software solutions on a proprietary and free basis
  • RFID for medium-sized companies
  • Femme digital - IT competence for women in the trade
  • Regional internet marketing
  • Electronic invoice processing

The award is given to companies that have recognized the importance of the Internet as a medium for their business activities and use its opportunities in an exemplary manner. In 2011 five award winners were honored. The competition is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. Once a year, the electronic business traffic network publishes a study entitled "Electronic business traffic in small and medium-sized businesses".
