Student organization at the Brechtbau

Around a fifth of all students in Tübingen study on or with connections to the Brechtbau.

The students are represented internally and externally in the committees of academic and student self-administration, among other things, by student councils. These appear both as individual faculties and together in the so-called Brechtbauplenum. This bundles the work of the student councils of all new philological subjects (American studies, English studies, German studies, international literatures, Romance studies, Scandinavian studies, Slavic studies and linguistics) and facilitates cooperation. In addition, the student councils for media studies, rhetoric and Indology also use the student council rooms in the Brechtbau.
