Neustadt 532 (Landshut)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The medieval building Neustadt 532 in the old town of Landshut was demolished in 2012. The building has been inhabited by blacksmiths for centuries since 1493. From the construction period around 1280, the approx. 3 m high residential and commercial section and the 1 m higher passage were still preserved until 2012. All parts of the house beyond this ground floor were destroyed in a fire, so that nothing is known about the original condition. During the reconstruction after the fire, which, according to investigations, was dated with reservations to 1291/92, two more floors were added above the business section. However, the roof continued to be directly connected to the passage. In 1612 the room on the 2nd floor received a plank beam ceiling.
