Dictionary of the History of Ideas

The Dictionary of the History of Ideas (DHI; dt. Dictionary of the History of Ideas ) was from 1973 to 1974 by Viennese Philip P. issued and Charles Scribner's Sons, New York moved (one belonging to the Gale Group Publishing).

It also appeared in Chinese and Japanese translations. The DHI has been out of print for many years but has been republished in electronic form, supported by the University of Virginia Library . Due to copyright reasons, the illustrations in the print version could not be published online. In addition, the journal Journal of the History of Ideas appears in the same publisher; its editors also financed the online edition of the DHI. In 2004 the DHI got a successor, the New Dictionary of the History of Ideas , edited by Maryanne Cline Horowitz and also published by Charles Scribner's Sons. This is also available as an e-book .

The article entries of the DHI were created by specialist scientists and offer detailed and reliable specialist information based on the current state of research.
