New Mexico State Route 48 is a highway in the US state of New Mexico that runs in a north-south direction.
The highway begins on US Highway 70 in Ruidoso and ends in Capitan on US Highway 380 . The State Route runs through the Sacramento Mountains , which are part of the Lincoln National Forest . Halfway there begins New Mexico State Route 37 , which can be used as a bypass for Capitan.
