New Tide Orquesta is a Swedish chamber music group from Stockholm and Gothenburg ( Sweden ).

The group consists of the musicians Per Störby, Livet Nord, Thomas Gustavsson, Josef Kallerdahl, Peter Gran and Johanna Dahl. The group was founded in 1996 under the name New Tango Orquesta . In 2012 she changed her name to "New Tide Orquesta". The word "Tango" from the original name has been replaced as the group believes that their music has "outgrown the tango garb".

Under the leadership of the composer Per Störby, the New Tide Orquesta has created a special sound and style, a mixture of modern chamber music , minimalism , baroque and free improvisation . Time and again leading to a tango style that seems to have its origins in the compositions and interpretations of Tango Nuevo by Astor Piazzolla .

The music from the New Tide Orquesta has been used in several films, plays, dance performances and installations.
