The Ngie [ ŋɡiə ] is a grassland language of Cameroon .

A variety of Ngie called Mengum is only 56% lexically similar to Standard Ngie and is therefore viewed by some linguists as a separate language.

The ethnic group who speak the Ngie as their mother tongue are also called the Ngie . In 2001 the Ngie had 37,000 speakers.
