Nichirin-ji (Ibaraki)
The Nichirin-ji ( Japanese 日 輪 寺 ) with the mountain name Yamizo-san ( 八 溝 山 ) is a temple of the Tendai direction of Buddhism in Daigo in the north of the Ibaraki Prefecture , Japan. The temple is located in the mountains below the 1021.8 m high Yamizo ( 八 溝 山 Yamizo-san ). In the traditional census it is the 21st of the 33 temples in the Kantō region .
history
According to tradition, the temple was built during the reign of Emperor Temmu of En no Gyōja in 673. An eleven-faced Kannon ( 十 一面 観 世 音 菩薩 Jūichi-men Kannon bosatsu ) is worshiped .
The attachment
Apart from the abbot and monks' quarters, the complex consists of a single building, the Kannon Hall ( 観 音 堂 Kannon-dō ).
