A non-smoking protection system is a technical or architectural way of protecting non-smoking workers and customers from tobacco smoke in places where smoking is prohibited. It is also used for preventive fire protection and the avoidance of soiling.

  • Smoking room: smoking is only allowed in approved smoking rooms.
  • Smoking island: Solutions that are open towards the room are implemented with smoking islands, for example in the larger Deutsche Bahn stations .
  • Smoking cabins can be half or fully closed and have air conditioning systems to divert or filter the tobacco smoke.
