Non-residential buildings

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term non-residential building can be found in:

  • The ordinance on energy-saving thermal insulation and energy-saving system technology in buildings ( Energy Saving Ordinance - EnEV).

There it is defined in the 1st section that residential buildings are buildings "which, according to their intended purpose, are primarily used for living, including residential, old people's and nursing homes and similar facilities" and that "non-residential buildings are buildings that do not fall under number 1".

  • In the energy pass based on the EnEV , which describes the energy requirements of these buildings.
  • In numerous statistics. Accordingly, non-residential buildings are buildings in which more than half of the total usable area is used for non-residential purposes. The usable area is defined in DIN 277.
