Dunne D8

The Nieuport-Dunne D-8 was a French military aircraft.

In 1909, the British aviation pioneer John William Dunne , then the commander of a British dragon balloon division, developed a six-stemmed biplane with a swept wing to achieve a very stable flight. In 1911 he revised the design to a tailless version. The model was built in Great Britain by the Blair Atholl aircraft company, for France Nieuport acquired the license and built the machine as the Nieuport-Dunne D-8.

Overall, however, the type was not widely used.
