Nightmare is a French metal band.

history

The band was formed back in 1979, but it wasn't until March 1983 as the opening act for Def Leppard (Pyromania Tour) in Grenoble that the doors to the music producers opened.

The album Power of the Universe was not released after the move from Ebony Records to Dream Records , due to the collapse of Dream Records and contractual difficulties. In 1988 the band split up.

Jo Amore was a singer with the band Temple and did not want to continue as a drummer after his return to Nightmare, so he became a singer. Jean-Marc Boix died on April 9, 1999 of a brain tumor.

In 1999 the band got together again and gave a reunion show in Grenoble on October 30, 1999. The first two albums were expanded and reissued. At the Wacken Open Air Festival in 2000 they had a big appearance. Further Wacken appearances followed in 2010 and 2014.
