Nikanor (son of Patroclus)
Nikanor was the son of Patroclus. He was a close friend of the Seleucid ruler Antiochus IV . From this he was 167 BC. Chr. (?) Commissioned to comply with the request of the Samaritans to dedicate their temple to Zeus Hellenios . In the years 166/165 BC He was commissioned by Lysias, together with Gorgias, to suppress the Maccabees' revolt. However, he was defeated in the battle of Emmaus .
He may be identical to another Nikanor , at least there may be overlaps or incorrect assignments in both biographies.
