Chochryakov has been taking part in competitions organized by the Fédération Internationale de Ski since 2004 . Since 2007 he has mainly competed in the Eastern Europe Cup . He has had two wins so far and was third in the overall ranking in the 2013/14 season. At the 2007 Winter Universiade in Pragelato , he won bronze in the 30 km freestyle. He ran his first World Cup race in December 2007 in Rybinsk , which he finished with 31st place in the 30 km mass start race. In January 2009 he got his first World Cup points in Rybinsk with the 11th place in the 15 km mass start race. At the Russian cross-country skiing championships in Rybinsk in 2009, he won bronze in the 50 km mass start race. He achieved his best individual World Cup result so far in February 2013 in Sochi when he finished ninth in the 30 km skiathlon. At the Russian cross-country skiing championships in 2014 in Tyumen , he won bronze in the 50 km mass start race.
