The Nikon 1 V1 is a digital mirrorless system camera with a CMOS image sensor in CX format. Together with the Nikon 1 J1, it is one of the first generation of the Nikon 1 system and was presented on September 21, 2011.

The Nikon 1 V1 has an electronic viewfinder with a resolution of 1,440,000 pixels and a 3.0-inch screen with a resolution of 921,000 pixels. There is also an accessory shoe on the top, to which the external SB-N5 flash unit or the GP-N100 GPS receiver can be connected. In contrast to the Nikon 1 J1, however, it does not have an integrated flash. The V1 takes series pictures at full resolution at a speed of 60 frames per second with single autofocus and 10 frames per second with continuous autofocus.

Video function

The Nikon 1 V1 records HD videos with a resolution of 1080p (60i / 30p) and 720p (60p / 30p). In addition, slow-motion recordings can be made with a resolution of 640 × 240 at 400 fps and 320 × 120 at 1,200 fps. In both cases these are played back with a frame rate of 29.97 fps.
