Nimmbus is a paid program, the standard version of which has functions such as timetable information or the printing of line timetables. There are extended versions for transport companies that provide additional functions such as vehicle scheduling or personnel deployment. The program is conceptually designed for the Hamburg city area and the surrounding area (supported means of transport, fare calculation), but it can also process timetable data from other regions; a version for the district of Celle has also existed since 2015 .

In addition to the standard version for Windows, there is also a version for MS-DOS, which is officially no longer supported but still supplied on CD, which also has a control center function in the normal version for private users.

Nimmbus is sold by the manufacturer in the download and dispatch, as well as in service points of the HVV.
