Nishi-shiki Kenkōhō
The Nishi-shiki Kenkōhō ( Japanese 西式 健康 法 , English Nishi Health System ) is a comprehensive system for maintaining health and stimulating body functions, which the Japanese Nishi Katsuzō ( 西 勝 造 , 1884-1959) developed and published in 1927.
Six health rules
- Sleep on a hard, level surface - not a mattress
- Use a hard, semicircular pillow that is placed under your neck
- Do the "Golden Fish" exercise in the morning and in the evening for 1–2 minutes each: lying on your back, cross both hands under your neck and vibrate your whole body lengthways like a fish snaking in the water
- The "exercise for the capillaries" also mornings and evenings: lying on your back, lift your arms and legs and shake them
- The exercise "putting hands and feet together"
- The exercise for the spine and stomach: sit upright and tilt your upper body far to the left and right to the side
Other important health rules are
- Breathing exercises
- Hardening by air and water baths (warm / cold)
- only two meals a day: noon and evening
- Eat at least three different types of raw vegetables a day
- drinking water
