No. 237 Operational Conversion Unit

The 237 OCU (Operational Conversion Unit) was a training unit of the Royal Air Force .

The Royal Air Force provided the No. 237 OCU on July 31, 1947 in Benson as a photo reconnaissance unit. She went from the dissolved No. 8 OTU (Operational Training Unit) and was equipped with aircraft of the type de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito Mk II, PR.37, and PR.37A as well as Supermarine Spitfire Mk XVI and Mk XIX. She was born on December 1, 1951 in Bassingbourn with the No. 231 OCU merged and thus dissolved.

On October 23, 1956, part of the 231 OCU became No. 237 OCU restored at Wyton . The equipment now consisted of English Electric Canberra PR.3 and T.4. The reunion with the No. 231 OCU took place on January 21, 1958.

On March 1, 1971, the unit was reorganized in Honington . She moved to Lossiemouth on October 19, 1984 . During this time, aircraft of the type Blackburn Buccaneer S.2A and S.2B as well as Hawker Hunter F.6, T.7, T.7A, T.7B and T.8C were used. The unit was disbanded on October 1, 1991.
