No Strings Attached - Figurentheater & more (official spelling: no strings attached ) is a festival in Mainz for unusual forms of theater. It is organized by the Rhineland-Palatinate Cultural Summer in the Mainzer Kammerspiele , in the KUZ and in other extraordinary locations. It has been held annually in September since 1998. Until 2005, No Strings Attached was still called the “Puppet Theater Festival”. Since 2011 it has taken place every two years in May.
The focus of the festival is often based on the cultural summer motto . Despite the small size of only around five to eight pieces per year, the festival often shows well-known international puppet theater.
In addition to the classic open and closed forms of play in puppet theater, there is also a place for shadow play, station, object or visual theater, sometimes in public spaces and in unusual places.
