Noel Quinn

Noel Quinn (* 1961 ) is a British manager . He's since Aug. 5, 2019 Acting Chief Executive Officer ( Group CEO ) and Member of the Board ( Board of Directors ) of HSBC Holdings.

Career

The Irish-born manager began his professional career in 1987 as an accountant at Forward Trust Group, a subsidiary  of Midland Bank , which was taken over by HSBC Holdings plc in 1992. As General Manager , he managed HSBC's acquisitions Swan National Motor Finance and Eversholt Leasing Ltd.  

He then took on various management functions in the HSBC insurance company (Insurance Services), initially as group leader for strategy and development for North America, then as department head Europe for equity investments (Specialized and Equity Finance) and from 2008 to 2011 as department head UK for corporate customers (commercial banking) . From 2011 to 2015 he was Regional Manager Asia-Pacific for corporate clients based in Hong Kong, from December 2015 Chairman of the Board of Global Commercial Banking Gesellschaft and has been Managing Director of the HSBC Group (Group Managing Director) since September 2016.

His main goal in his current role is to expand his position as a leading international corporate bank.    

He is a member of the global advisory board of the lesbian-gay management network OutLeadership.
