Norbert H. Quack

Norbert Harald Quack (born April 24, 1947 in Mönchengladbach-Rheydt ) is a German attorney and notary a. D., board member in companies and honorary consul of Sri Lanka .

Quack comes from an old Lower Rhine family. He has four brothers. His father Erwin Quack (1906–1987) was a textile manufacturer; his mother Ingrid Quack (1917–1997) was from Hamburg, daughter of the Commodore Fritz Kruse . Norbert Quack has lived in Stuttgart since 1977. His first marriage was to Angela Weber-Bleyle. He has been married to management consultant Annegret Cornelia Pehse-Quack since 2017.

Life and work

Quack attended high school in Odenkirchen and graduated from high school there in 1966. Before that he spent a year as an exchange student in the USA. He studied law in Munich and Bonn; he passed the first state examination in law in the summer of 1970. This was followed by a two-year activity in his father's company before he began his legal clerkship in Düsseldorf and passed the second state examination in 1975.

During his legal traineeship, he worked for the law firm Vetter, Schlenger, Schindler & Jacobson, which is focused on commercial law and for which he worked after his admission to the bar in August 1975. In 1977 he moved to Jauch & Sigle & Partner in Stuttgart, where he became a partner in 1980. After the law firm was split up, he stayed in Stuttgart and founded his own law firm in 1982, which today operates under the name Quack, Gutterer & Partner. In 1990, another law firm was opened in Dresden. At the beginning of 1999 he was appointed a notary.

As a lawyer, Quack mainly advises medium-sized companies and entrepreneurs on corporate law matters as well as on the purchase, sale and reorganization of companies. The subject of advice is also related areas of law such as co-determination , corporate management , D&O liability , accounting , corporate tax law , inheritance law and the like. For years, his clients have also included financial companies dealing with regulatory issues (corporate governance, compliance, reporting and reporting requirements, as well as risk management).

Honorary positions and memberships

In 1992 Quack was appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Sri Lanka for Baden-Württemberg and Saarland. In 2011 he received the Federal Cross of Merit in particular for his commitment to the tsunami aid project “German Haritha Gama”. With the “Eco Village” a new home was created for 90 families in 2007; In addition to the construction of residential buildings in a locally adapted and ecological construction, the infrastructure as well as a community center, a kindergarten and a health station were built.

Quack is a board member of the non-profit Speidel Foundation. He has been a member of the Corps Franconia Munich since 1966 . He is also a member of professional chambers and associations as well as the Rotary Club Stuttgart-Wildpark.
