Norbert Konrad

Norbert Konrad (* 1958 ) is a German forensic psychiatrist .

Konrad studied medicine in Giessen and Berlin . He received his specialist certification as a doctor for neurology and psychiatry in 1989, the additional designation psychotherapy in 1993. From 1993 to 1996 Konrad was chief physician of the department for forensic psychiatry at the Saxon hospital for psychiatry and neurology in Arnsdorf . Konrad completed his habilitation in 1995. Since 1996 he has been the head physician of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the Berlin Prison Hospital. He is currently an endowed professor of the Berlin Senate for a project between the Charité and the Senate. Since October 1, 2016, Konrad has been acting director of the Institute for Forensic Psychiatry at the Berlin Charité.

Konrad is one of the best-known forensic experts in Germany. An expert opinion case with particular media attention was Frank Schmökel , who is now in the penal system in the Brandenburg State Clinic.
