Norbert Reuter

Norbert Reuter (born November 29, 1960 in Wegberg ) is a German economist and has been working on the ver.di federal executive board in Berlin since 2002 as head of the collective wage policy department. He teaches at RWTH Aachen University . His main research interests are in the areas of growth, structural change, distribution and demographic development.

Life

Reuter studied economics and political science at the Rheinisch Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen and at the University of York in Heslington, United Kingdom. At RWTH Aachen University he was given the title “Institutionalism. History and Theory of Evolutionary Economy ”. He completed his habilitation in 2000 at the Faculty of Economics at RWTH Aachen University on the subject of “Economics of the 'Long Term'. On the evolution of the basis for growth in industrial societies ”. He has been teaching at RWTH Aachen University since 2000. Furthermore, from 2005 to 2010 he was a lecturer in economics at the Berlin School of Economics and Law .

Positions

He was a member of the Alternative Economic Policy Working Group (Memorandum Group) and from 2011 to 2013 an expert member of the Enquete Commission on Growth, Prosperity, Quality of Life and published numerous papers on institutional economics, labor market policy, growth theory and policy and the economic development of industrial societies. Reuter is a member of Attac's Scientific Advisory Board .
