Norbert Schröer

Norbert Schröer (born January 14, 1953 in Essen ) is a German sociologist.

After studying social pedagogy and social sciences at the Universities of Bochum and Essen, Norbert Schröer completed a traineeship for teaching. He received his doctorate in 1991 at the Distance University of Hagen and then worked in several research projects funded by the DFG and the Volkswagen Foundation on police investigation communication and intercultural communication (always in connection with the differentiation of qualitative research processes) as a research assistant at the Distance University Hagen GH and the University of Essen (later Duisburg-Essen) active.

Norbert Schröer completed his habilitation in 2001 at the University of Essen in communication science. In 2001 he was visiting professor at the University of Vienna. Since 2002 he has been a lecturer in the doctoral program at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. From 2009-2013 he represented the subject "Empirical Social Research with a Focus on Qualitative Methods" at the Faculty of Social and Cultural Studies at the University of Fulda . Since 2013 he has been professor for "Qualitative Methods in Empirical Social Research with a Focus on Intercultural Communication Research" in the same department. He is currently working on questions of intercultural university didactics.
