Nordvågholmen

Nordvågholmen is an uninhabited island in Norway and belongs to the municipality of Nordkapp in the Norwegian province of Troms og Finnmark .

It is located immediately south of the island of Magerøya at the southern exit of the Botn fjord about 250 meters south of Nordvågen in the Porsangerfjord . West of the island which the passage Versterleia , northeast Østerleia . Nordvågholmen extends from north to south over about 200 meters with a width of up to about 150 meters. The barren, rocky island is sparsely overgrown and reaches a height of up to 9.2 meters. A building was erected on the north shore of the island.

In the eastern part of the island an old burial ground from the 19th century is suspected.

At least at the beginning of the 20th century, the island was used for horticultural purposes by the Bjarne Berg family . Before 1944 there was a fishing operation on the island. A boat ran aground in July 2014 and a fishing boat on January 14, 2017 in Nordvågholmen.
