The Porsangerfjord ( North Sami : Porsáŋgguvuotna) is a fjord in the north of Norway in the province of Troms and Finnmark . It is around 123 kilometers long with a width of around 10 to 20 km, making it the longest fjord in Northern Norway and the fourth longest fjord in Norway. To the east of the island of Magerøya , the Porsangerfjord flows into the European Arctic Ocean . In the east the fjord is bordered by the Sværholt Peninsula .

The municipalities of Nordkapp and Porsanger and several fishing villages are located on the fjord coast . In addition, the runs on the North Cape ending Europastraße E69 directly on the west coast of the Porsangerfjords along.

At its southern end, the fjord is split by a peninsula into a western arm - Vesterbotn ( Leavdnjavuotna ) with the side fjord Brennelvfjorden ( Lavttevuotna ) - and an eastern arm - Østerbotn ( Soggovuotna ).

The salmon rivers Børselva , Lakselva and Stabburselva flow into the fjord.
