Norges Sjakkforbund (short NSF; German  Norwegian Chess Federation ) is the national chess federation in Norway . The association, founded in 1914 by seven clubs, has its headquarters in the Sjakkontoret (chess office) in Oslo . He is a member of the international chess federation FIDE , the European Chess Union and the Norwegian Thinking Sports Association . The approximately 2400 members of the NSF (as of 2011) are active in 110 clubs from 16 chess circles. The member newspaper Norsk Sjakkblad , which has been published six times a year since 1906, publishes information on the tournaments organized by the association, including the national championships, the Norges Grand Prix and the chess leagues.

The President of the Norwegian Chess Federation has been Jøran Aulin-Jansson since 2007 , and Liv Mette Harboe has been General Secretary since 2011.
