Norgg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Norgg (in the regional dialect Nörggele ; plural: die Norgge , in the dialect Nörggelen ) is a Tyrolean and especially South Tyrolean legend . According to legend, these are evil angels who, however, did not go to hell, but are immortally trapped on earth.

Descent

When, as described in the Bible, the followers of the former archangel Lucifer were expelled from heaven to hell, those who were not actually evil, but had only been incited by the later devil, got stuck on mountain tops and trees. Since they are considered immortal beings, they have lived in hollow trees and in caves under the earth since that time. They are considered treacherous in popular superstition because they envy people's mortality.
