Models in Paradise
Models in Paradise , original French title Cœurs Caraïbes , is a four-part television series from 1995 (German first broadcast 1997), where the actress and singer Vanessa Demouy made her debut. The series ran in Germany on tm3 .
Directed by Paolo Barzman , the screenplay is by Laurent Vachaud .
The series is about the adventures of two models on a Caribbean island near Martinique .
The series was so successful that a second season called Aventures Caraibes was produced a year later.
Season 1: Coeurs caraïbes (1995)
Episode 1: Ready for the island
Linda Demersey ( Vanessa Demouy ), an aspiring top model, inherits the small island of Madinina and its hotel from her grandfather. Since she is tired of the life as a model and the hectic city bustle of Paris, she quickly packs her bags and flies to the Caribbean with her friend Victoire ( Cachou ). The opaque hotel manager Lucas ( Patrick Forster-Delmas ) welcomes the two. Linda is disappointed to find out that the hotel is totally run down and is about to go bankrupt. Her uncle Willy ( Paul Barge ), who was counting on the inheritance himself, generously offers to buy the complex and the island from her. But Linda wants to inherit her.
Now Willy tries to get rid of Linda. He lures Lucas as an accomplice. When Linda goes on a boat trip, the dinghy, prepared by Lucas, sinks. Linda can just save herself on a sandbar.
Episode 2: Dangerous Liaisons
Linda's ex-boyfriend David meets Madinina without prior notice. He wants to win Linda back, but she throws herself into the arms of the opaque hotel manager Lucas. Little does Linda know that Lucas is not only in league with her greedy uncle Willy, but also has contacts with the Mafia.
Episode 3: Trouble in Paradise
While Uncle Willy persuades Linda to realize her plans for a recreation center together with him, strange guests go ashore in Madinina. Lucas introduces Linda the strangers as his nephew Diego and his commercial film crew. In reality the men belong to the secret service. Lucas has brought her on the trail of Linda's uncle, whom he suspects of being involved in dubious business.
Episode 4: Caribbean Wedding
The investigation by the secret service puzzled Linda. She sees all the important papers relating to the island with her late grandfather's lawyer. She has to uncover the secret that surrounds Madinina before she is forced to sell the island and hotel complex to Uncle Willy due to the lack of tourists. She meets Lucas again in the lawyer's office ...
