Norman Warner, Baron Warner (born September 8, 1940 ) is a member of the British House of Lords and the Labor Party .

biography

Lord Warner was policy advisor to Jack Straw when he was Home Secretary from 1997 to 2001. He was promoted to Life Peer on July 29, 1998, with the title Baron Warner , of Brockley in the London Borough of Lewisham , which was associated with a seat in the House of Lords. The Lord held the position of Minister of State in the Ministry of Health from 2003 to 2006. He was director of the General Social Care Council from 1985 to 1991. This institution is responsible for the regulation of social work. He also chairs the All Party Parliamentary Humanist Group , which includes members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords. In October 2015, Lord Warner resigned from the Labor Party in the House of Lords and has been a member of the Crossbenchers ever since . As a reason, he cited the Labor Party's lack of credibility since Jeremy Corbyn was elected party chairman and doubts that the Labor Party could win elections with its current policies.
