Norsk Telegrambyrå

Norsk Telegrambyrå AS (NTB) is the largest news agency in Norway .

The agency was founded in 1867 and was initially part of the German news agency Wolffs Telegraphisches Bureau . Today it is owned by various Norwegian media houses such as Schibsted , Amedia and Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK). The private television broadcaster TV 2 ended its cooperation with the news agency in 2004. In addition to the media outlets, the NTB also sells its articles to organizations, businesses and authorities that have taken out a subscription.

The agency offers a full service, serves more than 70 daily newspapers as well as the most important radio, TV and Internet media in the country. NTB also owns Norway's leading picture agency Scanpix Norge AS .
