North Ice or Northice is the name of the wintering station by James Simpson (1911-2002) led the British North Greenland Expedition (1952-1954) at the apex of the Greenland ice sheet . The station's coordinates were 78 ° 4 '0 "  N , 38 ° 29' 0"  W Coordinates: 78 ° 4 '0 "  N , 38 ° 29' 0"  W , at an altitude of 2345  m .
