North River is a small municipality ( town ) in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador .
The parish belongs to the Census Division No. 1 . It is located on Bay de Grave , a small side bay of Conception Bay , in the north of the Avalon Peninsula on the north coast of the island of Newfoundland . The small North River flows through the community area.
The 2016 census showed that the municipality had a population of 570. In the census in 2011 it was 562, in 2006 557. This means that the population has increased slightly in recent years.
