North To Alaska is a 1960s country song written by Johnny Horton .

It is the theme song for the western of the same name starring John Wayne , which is known in Germany as the Land of a Thousand Adventures . From January 9, 1961, North To Alaska stayed in the US country charts for five weeks .

Also in 1960 Ralf Bendix published a German version of the title with Weit von Alaska .
