The Novus Mons is a mountain on Mars and is located there in the Mountains of Mitchell .
It stands at 75 ° S and 315 ° W on the edge of the southern polar cap . The ice largely forms a level there. During the day there are melting processes, so that the Novus Mons emerges as an island.
