Nox (unit)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nox (from Latin nox = night), unit symbol nx , is an obsolete unit of dark illuminance for luminance, which has been illegal since January 1, 1978, in which the rods of the retina partly help to convey the impression of light.

The legal SI unit of illuminance today is the lux (lx).

1 nx = 1/1000 lx
